This was todays lunch. But it was a lovely warm and filling lunch so as far as I am concerned it counts as supper, obviously I will still be eating supper, but you get the picture.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Peperonata has been on my list of dishes to try for a while now. Mission accepted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/suppersfromscratch.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/screen-shot-2012-09-12-at-17-22-47.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-868\" title=\"Mission Accepted to make pepperonata\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/suppersfromscratch.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/screen-shot-2012-09-12-at-17-22-47.png?w=300\" width=\"300\" height=\"226\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">This is actually a fairly quick meal to make, Its pretty much chop everything up and leave it to cook for about half an hour.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Well its not quite that simple so I will give you the recipe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\"><strong>Peperonata<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\"><em>Ingredients<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">2 Red Peppers<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">1 Onion<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">1 Clove Garlic<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">1 tin of Tomatoes\/ 6 Tomatoes skinned and chopped<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">1 tsp Sugar<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">1\/2tsp Fennel Seeds<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Salt and Pepper to taste<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\"><em>Method<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Thinly slice the onion and fry for about 5 mins till golden in a pan<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Add chopped garlic and peppers sliced length ways, leave to cook slowly for about 10 mins<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Add tomatoes, sugar, fennel seeds and salt and pepper and boil, once boiling leave to simmer for 20-30 mins<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">In the spirit of using up leftovers, I pulled some bulgar wheat from the back of the cupboard and served it with that, but this could go on pasta, served with bread, or even leave to cool and has an accompaniment to some cold meat and cheese.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/suppersfromscratch.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/dsc_0318.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-871\" title=\"Peperonata\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/suppersfromscratch.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/dsc_0318.jpg\" width=\"490\" height=\"737\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">A simple and delicious supper and a great way to get rid of excess peppers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Why not try it this weekend.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Happy Friday!<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Now I have lied a bit in the subject line because I didnt actually have it for supper.
