{"id":556,"date":"2012-06-06T17:10:32","date_gmt":"2012-06-06T17:10:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/suppersfromscratch.wordpress.com\/?p=556"},"modified":"2013-04-21T20:34:36","modified_gmt":"2013-04-21T20:34:36","slug":"im-madeleines-im-madeleines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.suppersfromscratch.com\/?p=556","title":{"rendered":"I&#8217;m Madeleines, I&#8217;m Madeleines"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/suppersfromscratch.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/06\/dsc_0933.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-557\" title=\"Lemon Madeleines\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/suppersfromscratch.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/06\/dsc_0933.jpg?w=1024\" width=\"1024\" height=\"680\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">In preparation for this Saturdays Crafternoon Tea Party, I was testing out some recipes over the weekend and uncovered the delights of Lemon Madeleines.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\"> <!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Sweet but not too sweet, light and airy but still filling and deliciously lemony, oh and pretty simple to make.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">As a result I won&#8217;t ramble on about them for hours other than to say, they are the perfect accompaniment to a cup of earl grey and a sofa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\"><strong>Ingredients \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/suppersfromscratch.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/06\/dsc_0935.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-558\" title=\"Lemon Madeleines\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/suppersfromscratch.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/06\/dsc_0935.jpg?w=300\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">3 free-range eggs<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">4\u00bdoz sugar<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">7oz plain flour<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">1tsp baking powder<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Zest of \u00a01 Lemon<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">1 tsbp honey<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">4 tbsp milk<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">7oz butter<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\"><strong>Method<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Melt your butter in pan on a low heat and leave to cool<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Beat the eggs and sugar in a bowl until they have turned pale and fluffy ( about 5-10mins)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Put the flour and baking powder into a separate bowl and add the lemon zest<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Add the honey and milk to your cooled butter, then add the egg mixture<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Add the flour mix bit by bit and stir until there are no lumps. Cover and leave to rest in the fridge for a few hours or overnight.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Preheat your oven to 190 degrees<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Butter your madeleine pan or muffin tin and spoon in the batter until the moulds are not quite filled<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Bake the madeleines for five mins then turn of the oven for one minute leaving the madeleines in the oven.
