So as you can imagine, the same sort of salads have been doing the rounds.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\">However this Saturday after a hefty 2 hour gym session, I wanted something healthyish (basically didn&#8217;t want to undo all that good word) but at the same time I fancied a bit of an indulgence, something that packed a real punch in the flavour department.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\">A few days before I had seen this Smokey Kale and Caesar Salad and decided to give it a try. I mainly for the dressing &#8211; I always make one of two dressings you see, and Caesar isn&#8217;t one of them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.shutterbean.com\/2014\/smoky-kale-caesar-salad\/\">This dressing <\/a>seemed to be the answer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\">So Kale Caesar Salad it was &#8211; obviously with a few amendments \u2013 nix the croutons and cheese, add in tomatoes, avocado, pepper and now we have a salad going. And boy did it pack a punch in the flavour department. And even better news it was filling. A truly satisfying meal on all accounts. So next time you fancy an indulgent but semi-healthy salad why not give this a try.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\"><em>Ingredients<br \/>\n<\/em><\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\">1 bag of chopped Curly Kale ( Alternatively chop the kale yourself)<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\">2 Peppers (1 Yellow, 1 Red)<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\">1 Avocado<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\">4 Tomatoes<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\">For dressing<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\">1 tbsp Lemon Juice<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\">2 cloves Garlic<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\">1 Egg<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\">1 tbsp Red Wine Vinegar<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\">3 Anchovy filets<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\">1 \u00bd tsp Dried Chilli Powder<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\">1 \u00bd tsp Paprika<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Salt and Pepper<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\">50 ml Olive Oil\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Method<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Squeeze some lemon on to your kale and mix \u2013 leave for about 30mins<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\">In the meantime chop your other salad ingredients into chunks<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\">For the dressing mix the lemon juice, vinegar, garlic, anchovies, chilli powder and paprika in a small blender, add the oil and egg and blitz until everything is combined. Season with salt and pepper<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Check the seasoning, then add your salad vegetables, and dressing to the kale and give it a good mix<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Delicious, indulgent, semi healthy and just plain good.
